Tropical paradise { wedding photography London }

I was very excited about photographing Lucy and Mina’s wedding day at The Roof Gardens in Kensington – such an iconic London venue! It was an amazing day and I truly was so delighted to see this lovely couple and their families becoming one.

I first heard from Lucy via email which winged its way to me from Dubai where the couple currently live and work and we agreed to meet at Southbank London to discuss their wedding and do an engagement shoot which was great fun!! We start their blog post with a few images from that shoot!

A few months later and their wedding day had arrived – I started with Lucy and her bridesmaids and family getting ready – the prosecco was flowing and they were very well looked after by their beauty team of Sharon Roberts and Tania Stephenson-Oliver. Meanwhile the boys were a few floors away in the hotel getting ready before we all headed down to their church for their ceremony. As Mina was born in Eygpt they had a very symbolic and moving Coptic Orthadox ceremony. Guests came from all over the world to be with them – family from Egypt and New Zealand, friends from Dubai! Lucy arrived by London taxi and stepped out to meet Mina looking stunning in her Suzanne Neville tailored gown. She and her equally tailored groom walked down the aisle together. Yep – their smiles you are about to see didn’t leave their faces all day!

After the ceremony a confetti covered couple and I whisked off in a taxi, briefly stopping at a picturesque Kensington mews and then onto their venue at The Roof Gardens. It had been transformed into a tropical paradise. Birds of paradise and vivid colours perfectly suited the venue’s fabulous planting and flamingoes! The guests were treated to fabulous canapés and a feast of barbecued food for the wedding breakfast.
