Elegance and Grace { Petworth House Sussex Wedding }
I was lucky enough to be a part of a gorgeous wedding where friends and family had traveled far and wide to be a part of Polina and Romeo’s big day….
Polina got ready with the assistance of her two bridesmaids, future sister-in-law Rosa and best friend Charlotte. She began to transform into a beautiful bride as the hair and makeup began – being done by Lauren Kristie from Toni & Guy. Once the bride put on her beautiful gown, by Madeline Issac James, I knew her husband to be was going to extremely impressed! The jitters seemed far off until the bride and her bridesmaids, who wore dresses from Hook, were standing next to each other – finally the bride felt like it was her wedding day. Then I was off to see the groom…
Romeo looked dashing in his Stephen Bishop suit and his groomsmen circled around him in excitement for his big day. A few pictures were taken and it was time to enter the church and wait for his lovely bride. I could see he was full of nerves and excitement and his groomsmen were there at his side to calm him down, make him look 100% and add in a few jokes! Everything was going according to plan and Polina was on her way to walk down the aisle.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning and the room was filled with love, not only from the happy couple, but also from their guests who were so pleased to be witnessing the coming together of childhood sweethearts Polina and Romeo.
The wedding papers were signed and it was time to be showered with confetti in celebration of the big day – the couple were extremely amused and it seemed as if their smiles were never going to fade. After a few shots, it was time to make the 45-minute trip to the reception at Petworth House and Park.
As you step into the 17th century house you are greeted by treasured art and sculptures. Polina and Romeo were lucky enough to be granted the chance to show their guests the entire house, and have pictures taken that had the most gorgeous backdrops! The building houses an impressive collection of paintings and sculptures, including 19 oil paintings by J. M. W. Turner, and wall and ceiling paintings by Louis Laguerre. There is also a terrestrial globe by Emery Molyneux, believed to be the only one in the world in its original 1592 state!
The reception was held in the gardens of the Petworth House and Park where a marquee was set up with a stunning elegant theme mainly made up of whites with added pastel tones for a touch of color. The event coordinators and caterers Caper & Berry had done a stunning job. The guests were in awe as they walked in, being greeted by beautiful table arrangements and flowers.
The day went on with the guests chatting about the couple, Romeo’s Italian family – many who had flown over – getting to know Polina’s, having a few drinks and sharing some fun memories. Then it was time for the speeches – laughs were shared, tears were shed and everyone seemed to completely forget about the world going on around them, with all their focus on the happy couple.
By the end of the night everyone had their dancing shoes on and were celebrating Polina and Romeo beginning their new journey of love and happiness.
