One of the most wonderful things about being a photographer is that you get to capture life’s treasured moments in the midst of some extraordinary places. Each experience is unique but one thing always remains the same… the people, the places and the wedding days are all so beautiful.
Jennie and Mark met at a cricket game at Lords Cricket Ground – when I say met – Jennie kind of fell at Mark’s feet (getting very grazed knees in the process!) It certainly had a lasting impression and here they are bringing a shared love of cricket into the theme of the big day!
For Jennie and Mark, Hambledon was the chosen location for their special day. With the ceremony and reception venues in close proximity one can fully appreciate why the couple decided to get married here. Surrounded by sweeping woodlands and English countryside the scene was set for a truly ‘beautiful’ day.
I joined Jennie and her bridesmaids at the family home and shared in the fun as the bridal party got ready for the big day ahead. If there were any nerves you would never have known as a delicious bottle of Hambledon vineyard (appropriately) sparkling wine was sipped and laughter ensued as the final touches were put together.
The couple were married in The Parish Church of Hambledon. Dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, the church has stood for over 1000 years proudly overlooking the village nestled in the valley below. Such an emotive setting brought to life by the vibrant pinks and lavenders of the flower arrangements. The church was filled with happiness and smiles as Jennie and Mark exchange their wedding vows. The ceremony was, in a word, ‘beautiful’.
The wedding party then moved on to the very exclusive Hambledon Vineyard where the wedding breakfast was held in an elegant marquee. The decor complemented the surrounding landscape of the vineyard and echoed the bright colour tones of the ceremony. Amongst the stunning floral centerpieces were delicate pink glasses and crystal under plates throughout the luxurious tables capes. Cricket themed details included table names, table plan and for the eagle-eyed – socks too! Jennie and Mark shared a truly incredible afternoon with their friends and family. A breathtaking and ‘beautiful’ affair in anyone’s book.
