Sophie and Chris’s pretty country garden wedding {wedding photography, Surrey}
Sophie and Chris celebrated their wedding day surrounded by wonderful family and friends, lots of laughter, serene music and tons of prettiness! Also I got to photograph a grand total of 13 bridesmaids and groomsmen – a first for me and they were up for a laugh which was lots of fun! Sophie looked stunning in her Caroline Castigliano gown and her veil – just WOW – that blew perfectly in the summer breeze. The guests arrived in vintage buses (an orange one for the Dutch half of the family!) to the church service in Tilford near Farnham was perfect, the readings beautiful – we had a little smile at each other during the ceremony, it was so nice to feel a part of the day. And then the family pet pooches, kitted out in their special matching purple leads, behaved perfectly when they walked the newlyweds down a church walk of confetti throwing – it was all so fantastic!!
We travelled back to the marquee reception in Sophie’s parents wonderful garden nearby, and while the guests were entertained beautifully by a string quartet and served up delicious canapés and homemade lemonade and elderflower cordial (also known as nectar of the gods!), Sophie, Chris and I went off in search of a buttercup field I had spotted earlier. It was worth the walk – we got a stunning photograph which summed up the early summer day perfectly.
The marquee looked stunning – all perfectly styled by Idyllic Days Prop-hire and a wonderful cake by Leslies Cakes took pride of place. One of my favourite parts of the meal was dessert – a DIY Eaton Mess served in tea cups – the guests had loads of fun constructing it and then smashing up their meringues!
The speeches really did make me chuckle (quietly into the back of my camera!) – there was a big contingent of Chris’s family that had flown over from Holland and there was alot of Dutch jokes and orange props from his old school mates! Need I say more….. and then to finish a perfect day, the bride and groom left their guests gobsmaked with a practised dance routine for their first dance! When I left – it was a riot on the dance floor to the band Chemistry and of course…..the orange props!!!
