Jasper’s 1st birthday cake smash {childrens photography, Weybridge}

A few days ago both Jasper and I tried something new – I did my first ever ‘cake smash’ photography and Jasper got to demolish a delicious vanilla sponge cake and have his first taste! How gorgeous is this cake?! It was made for our shoot by the fabulous and very talented Krishanthi from Cakes by Krishanthi. She specialises in the most beautiful wedding cakes – you should go and take a peak at her website – this cake is just a taster (excuse the pun) of her immense talents.

Jasper is my godson and it is quite a treat for me to photograph him and I hope I can keep up the tradition as he grows up! He has the most brilliant bedroom so we started there – don’t you just love the ‘London’ theme.

A ‘cake smash’ photo-shoot is becoming quite a popular tradition for celebrating a 1 year olds birthday! It is normally around this age that babies start to get a taste of more sweet things in their diet – and this is a little bit of a treat and a LOT of fun!

Although Jasper wasn’t so sure about the cake on this day but we sure had fun getting him to try it!
