Karen and Tom’s London wedding was the absoloute epitome of style. From the stunningly simple white calla lily bouquet to her bespoke couture designed dress.

We started the day at a very swanky suite at the South Place Hotel; a beautiful backdrop for a beautiful bride. The girls and I had a giggle while getting ready and Karen was pampered and prepped by the very talented Carolanne Armstrong.

I know you have already noticed THE dress! As well as writing about fashion, Karen teaches yoga and this is how she met Maria Grachvogel (famous because she was a favourite of a certain Mrs Beckham before she started designing her own collection!), designer of this incredible couture dress. Maria’s known for scuplting the silhouette and who better to model her designs than a yoga teacher?! Not only did it look beautiful but it’s fluidity was perfect for a wedding day and it was a dream to photograph. This was Maria’s first wedding dress but I’m sure it will be the first of many commissions. And of course, the dress was perfectly accompanied by some stunning blue Nicholas Kirkwood shoes….’something blue’

We then made our way to the very grand St Lawrence Jewry for their ceremony where I caught up with the boys.  Everyone was so excited and it was lovely to see Tom catching up with his guests, including a group that had travelled from Italy to join them.  Tom teaches Latin and Italian at a London school which also meant they had privileged access to the crypts at the Guildhall, where their stunning wedding reception was held. Before entering the crypts, Karen, Tom and I went for a little walk to Love Lane round the corner – how could I resist a photo opportunity like that?! And then we made the most of the incredible architecture of the Guildhall for more couple shots.

After dinner, and some emotional speeches, the couple danced the night away to the amazing Imitation Band – but not before performing a surprise dance for their guests for the first dance!!!

Enjoy their story!
